A student from Gatundu South, Kiambu County had to learn the hard way after stealing a loaf of bread from the school’s dining hall.

The form three student, who goes to Muhuho High School, was ordered to buy 1000 loaves when reporting back to school after being handed a suspension, Citizen TV reports.

He also needed to clear his school fees upon returning.

“You are ordered to return back to school by latest 9 am on Monday having cleared pending school fees. Also come back with loaves of bread enough to feed all students,” read part of the suspension letter.

The act will end up costing his parents almost Ksh 50, 000 given that a loaf of bread goes for roughly 50 shillings.

Sources also point out that the 1000 loaves is what the school consumes in a day so technically, the principal ordered him to buy loaves for the whole school.
