SERIES: DIY BEAUTY TIPS AT HOME. FACIAL

Written by on March 31, 2020

Our second home beauty tip in the series is to give yourself a facial.

Facials may look like a lot of work especially when you sometimes break the bank to pay for them but during this quarantine period, you will have to improvise with what you have in your house.

What you need;

  • Baking soda
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Honey
  • coconut oil
  • Milk
  • Banana
  • Vitamin C serum
  • Hot water
  • Moisturizer

Cleanse

Begin by cleansing your face. This includes removing any oil residue or dirt that may be on your face before the facial begins. If you have a cleanser of choice use it with lukewarm water. If you would prefer a natural product, use honey. Scrub honey and hot water on your face then use a towel to pat dry.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating helps remove dead skin from your face. Using Baking soda and water for a natural product or use your exfoliator of choice. Scrub your face for about 20 seconds and wash off.

After this, put hot water in a basin, put your face as close as you can into the basin and cover your head with a towel. Stay in there for a maximum of two songs. This will help open your pores and peel off any dead skin residue.

Face mask

Apply a face mask on your face for about 5 minutes. Mix milk, bananas and coconut oil in a bowl. Apply the mixture to your face and leave to dry. If you have a preferred face mask such as a charcoal mask or a sheet mask you can use that as well. Rinse of the mask and pat your skin to dry.

Tone

Use Apple cider vinegar mixed with water to tone your face for an all natural cleanser. If you have a preferred toner, you can also use that.

Apply vitamin c serum after the toner as rub to dry on your face. There is no alternative to vitamin c. This is the best serum for your health and skin care benefits.

Moisturize

Moisturize your face with your moisturizer of choice depending on your skin care needs.
