NO BRA DAY…………. WHAT DOES IT MEAN ?

On 13th October 2020 is an annual celebration for the no bra day. This is meant to create awareness on breast cancer.  Women and ladies are encouraged to stay without wearing bras on this day. No bra day was established on July 9th 2011.

Women are encouraged to post on social media platforms and use the hashtag #nobraday. This is meant to promote gender equality and also to raise awareness on the symptoms of breast cancer.

Breast cancer is a type of cancer that forms in the cells of the breasts. Warning signs of breast cancer are; a lump in the breast, nipple discharge, swelling of the breast area and irritation on the breasts. One is encouraged to see a doctor immediately when they experience any of the above symptoms. The symptoms do not really mean you have breast cancer but it is better to see a doctor for testing. The common ways that can be used to test for breast cancer is through a mammogram or also through ultrasound. Breast cancer treatment depends on how large the tumor is. After the doctor determines how large your cancer is treatment begins. Surgery is the most common way to treat breast cancer. There are also other types of breast cancer treatment such as; chemotherapy and radiation.

The estimated cases of breast cancer as of January 8th 2020 were 279,100 the number of deaths was also an estimated 42,690.

October 11th encourages women to go braless for 24 hours this helps highlight the importance of screening to improve the survival of people suffering from breast cancer.
