Threads is a new app, built by the Instagram team, for sharing text updates and joining public conversations.
Mark Zuckerberg recently unveiled the first version of Threads, an application developed by the Instagram team specifically designed for sharing text-based content. Whether you are an active content creator or someone who posts occasionally, Threads presents a fresh and distinct platform for sharing real-time updates and engaging in public conversations.
Its aim is to ensure that Threads can seamlessly integrate with open and interconnected social networks, which we strongly believe will have a profound impact on the future of the internet.
Instagram serves as a global platform where billions of individuals connect through visual content such as photos and videos. The objective of Threads is to leverage Instagram’s core strengths and extend them to text-based communication, fostering a constructive and imaginative environment for expressing your thoughts and ideas. Similar to Instagram, Threads enables you to follow and connect with friends and creators who share your interests, including those you already follow on Instagram and beyond. Additionally, you can utilize our existing range of safety features and user controls to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.
How to join Threads:
On either an iPhone or Android, open the Google Play store or Apple Store on your phone ‘Threads” and hit download. When you open the Threads App, a button on the screen will guide you to log in with your Instagram account. Your Instagram username and verification will seamlessly transfer to Threads, giving you the choice to personalize your profile exclusively for this platform. It’s as easy as that.
Threads is strikingly similar to Twitter in key ways. The app’s main feed shows posts from accounts you follow, along with accounts recommended by Instagram’s algorithm. You have the option to share something again with your thoughts added, and responses are prominently displayed in the mainstream content. While there is currently no dedicated feed solely for the people you follow, that feature might be included in the future.
