Exercise your Brain

Your brain is the most important part of your body. Without your brain; your body can’t function, you can’t think as well as having no memories. Your brain is basically what makes you, You.

That’s why it’s very vital to exercise your brain just as much as you exercise your body, if not more.  When your brain is healthy, it reduces the risk of diseases such as dementia and depression. A healthy brain is also a key to success due to the increase of cognitive functioning.

The worst thing would be to exercise your brain and end up mentally exhausted and tired. There are easy ways to exercise your brain that won’t take up much of your time or drain you.

Meditation

Sit or lie down in a quiet and comfortable place of your choice.  Close your eyes and let go of all control. Focus fully on your breathing, if your mind wanders, bring it back to your breathing. Spend at least five minutes in meditation everyday in the morning and in the evenings after work.

Play ‘mind games’

Playing games such as puzzles, chess, crosswords is like lifting weights for the brain. Whenever you exercise your brain this way, your brain develops new neural pathways making your smarter and faster with daily tasks.

Try something new

When you experience something new, your brain adapts to the new challenge and attempts to adapt to it.  These can be simple tasks like; taking a different route to work, visiting a new place, listening to new music or even meeting and interacting with new people.

Body exercises and sports

Adrenaline rush got from exercising your body or playing sports is like food to your brain. When your body is rejuvenated, it communicates the same to your brain. This is essential for the health of your brain.

A healthy brain= A healthy life.
