Actress Catherine Kamau on getting pregnant 2 months after joining Campus: My mum later kicked me out

Just two months after joining campus, Mother-in-law actress Catharine Kamau discovered she was pregnant. She was only 19 years and it was her first time away from home. She had no idea what would follow after falling hard for her campus boyfriend and experimenting on sex.

The actress, who recently got married to the love of her life, Philip Karanja, shared that her mum was forced to kick her out since she wasn’t spending enough time with her son.

“Yeah I was kicked out but I think the reason she kicked me out is because after my son had turned two years,” she told Kalekye Mumo on her program Central Talk which airs on K24.

“That’s the time I got into arts, so couldn’t balance between being a mum and an actress.”

Kamau went on to add that it’s because of this imbalance that her mum decided she should have her own life and find a way to take care of the child.

“You know the hours we work on set and then I used to come back, the baby has not seen me. My mum is an academician she doesn’t understand arts so she was like what the hell is this.” She said.
