The Government of Rwanda has apologized to Kenyan band Sauti Sol after they missed performing in the country.

Minister of Sports and Culture, Julienne Uwacu, made the apology via social media after the band released a presser explaining to fans why they missed the show.

The band was scheduled to perform at Pan-African Dance Festival (FESPAD) in Kigali on Sunday 29th July.

I and the staff of the Ministry of Sports & Culture deeply regret our failure to host the FESPAD launch that both the artists and the Rwandan public deserve. We apologize to @sautisol,every artist as well as to Rwandan fans for this failure. The lessons learned will not be wasted.” tweeted Uwacu.

Sauti Sol had alerted their fans earlier that they missed the show because it was an organisational issue.

“This was an organisational issue with the promoters of the festival,”they said in the statement.

Adding:

“They reached out to us and despite our busy schedule in Zambia we took the time to accommodate this show because as usual we were very excited to come play in Kigali. We always have a blast playing for our Rwandan fans!”
