#NRGTransit LIVE FROM HOTEL ENGLISH POINT

Written by on July 30, 2018

Yesterday’s (Thursday July 27th 2018) #NRGTransit was extraordinary. Broadcasting live from Hotel EnglishPoint Marina – Mombasa, no less the penthouse suite, Mwalimu Rachel and DJ Shawn put up a spectacularly energetic show. Although Mwalimu was late due to preexisting engagements in Mombasa and could only link an hour of the show, it was the beginning of a penthouse party that is seen only on TV. Even the Wolf of Wall Street parties had nothing on this one!

NRG Transit at Hotel EnglishPointWe checked into Hotel English Point on Wednesday (July 26th) evening, and were received by the most courteous staff from the get go. Cold passion juice to welcome us while we checked in and shortly after all our details were taken and keycards issued, we were ushered by a bell boy and the Guest Relations Manager on duty at the time straight to the penthouse suite. What we saw blew our minds. To say we were in the lap of luxury is a gross understatement. You can check the video here and see for yourself. Bags unpacked and feet rested, we were ready to send out the clarion call for #NRGTransit.

The following morning, after a scrumptious breakfast at Hotel English Point’s Medusa, the adept tech team set up the station by the poolside and it promised to be a fantastic show. Bikinis and pool shorts were ready but it was not meant to be; the wind was too strong and would interfere with the signal. With just an hour to the official start of #NRGTransit, the team resolved to move the station and the party to the penthouse. And by the time they were done, Mwalimu still absent and a few technical issues in tow, the penthouse party started either way. DJ Shawn auto played one of his old mixes while the Mombasa Gizers filed in and joined the penthouse party. At ten minutes to six, we were given the technical all clear and at 1800 hours, DJ Shawn went live. Mwalimu arrived minutes after he went live.

What transpired as soon as the show began can only be described in pictures. There are simply no words to describe it. The atmosphere was energetic, the music on fire, the snacks and drinks flowing. And we had a birthday to celebrate – Mombasa’s very own DJ Linium And Mwalimu’s childhood friend was turning a year older and what better way to celebrate than live on #NRGTransit in a Penthouse Suite at Hotel EnglishPoint?! I really could go on and on and on but let me pause for a second… I’m still reeling from last night’s event. What energy, and what stellar hospitality from the staff and management of Hotel EnglishPoint!
