Mental health-check during Lockdown.

Written by on April 10, 2020

Lockdowns can be very stressful especially to your mental health due to the stress and worry of what’s to come.

It’s important that you keep your mental health, healthy during this pandemic and here are a few ways how;

Stop obsessing over corona news. This can be the beginning of your depression during lockdown. Be cautious of how much news you consume and where you get it from. Reading every single whatsapp forward or social media post could send you down a dangerous rabbit hole.

Take care of your body by eating healthy and working out. When your body is healthy, your mind is also healthy. Consuming junk food and being a couch potato all day doesn’t make your mind active and contributes to your depression.

Monitor your sleeping patterns by ensuring you have enough sleep. Being in the house all day and night might cause to either have minimal sleep when you stay up binge watching movies or it might cause to oversleep which then makes your body and mind tired.

Stay organized and on a routine. A routine ensures that your mind is active and adaptive to some form of normalcy. This goes hand in hand with keeping your home clean and tidy. A disorganized environment leads to a disorganized mind and in turn an unhealthy mental state.

Reach out to someone when you feel that it’s too much and you can’t handle it. You can talk to a trusted friend or go online and call a professional for professional if you need it.

Keep clean and stay safe.
