WAYS ON HOW TO HELP SOMEONE SUFFERING FROM MENTAL ILLNESS

Mental illness is a brain illness that affects your mood, thinking and behavior. Mental illness includes; anxiety disorders, depression, eating disorders among others.
Mental illnesses affect 19% of the adult population, 46% of teenagers and 13% of children each year. One of every four people gets affected by a mental health issue every year.
Here are ways in how you can someone suffering from mental illness;
Listening to them.
Listen to the person and do not make any judgments. After listening to them you can ask them how you can help them.
Checking on someone is also important.
Often ask them how they are, how they are feeling this makes them feel better by knowing they is someone they can offload to.
Encourage them to seek professional help.
Ask them to seek further help immediately especially if they are suicidal. There are helpline numbers one can also reach out to like 999.
Spend time with them.
Always remind them that they are important and you love them and that you will always be there for them.
