Taylor Swift Not A Snake Anymore?
Written by kingbeestar on April 30, 2019
After an almost 2-year hiatus,Taylor Swift’s comeback has been albeit overdue. Not anymore. Her sizzling comeback single Me! is the epitome of pop richness. And with a rather unprecedented guest that is Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco, brace yourself for a myriad surprises.
Taylor teased the new single and video with her characteristic cryptic posts hinting at a possible release in the several weeks leading up to its premiere as written earlier. The video is colorful and has even more mysteries to be unraveled. It starts off with a long, slithering snake that morphs into a swarm of butterflies as the scene transitions to the next. This is reminiscent of the Reputation era,and this is a possible depiction of what the new era entails. Butterflies have been the most consistent hint so far,and this could only mean two things;her new album’s title and its entire era has a lot to do with butterflies-perhaps a detailed insight into her love life that has been so unusually discrete. According to T-Swizzle (her moniker,if you are not in the know!),the video bears the titles to her upcoming 7th studio album and the next single.
The video broke a YouTube record in the 24 hours since its debut. Racking up 65.2 million views, Me! is now Taylor Swift’s second video since 2017’s Look What You Made Me Do to break a 4-hour viewership record. It is also the biggest 24-hour debut for a female or solo artiste. With follow-up singles underway,Swift is bound to typically break more records so watch out,BTS!
