Will Rihanna’s Long Overdue Album Drop Anytime Soon?

It has been more than 3 years since Rihanna dropped her juggernaut-filled album Anti. In what may now now feel like forever,fans have waited with bated breath for the follow-up to Anti,to no avail.Having kept herself busy juggling film-she has since been a part of Ocean’s 8 and Guava Island,and making a foray into the beauty world with Fenty Beauty-all while seemingly putting the release date for new music at bay-Rihanna’s 9th studio album now famously dubbed R9 has been long overdue,at least according to the Navy (that’s her fans’ moniker). RiRi has featured in a string of singles since,but she has not released any solo material since Anti.

On the flipside,RiRi has herself confirmed that the album drops later this year,except with no elaborate release date. This has understandably prompted grave speculation as regards said date,tour dates,and collaborators. The latter have been reported to be among her past collaborators like DJ Khaled and Pharrel.

Rihanna posted a glitter-filtered 2-second video snippet of supposed new music that sent fans into a frenzy a few weeks ago. It has been hugely reported that RiRi is working on two separate albums;a reggae one,and one made purely of chart-friendly songs;which could bring forth a double-disc album! This theory was further catapulted by reports of Rihanna in the Caribbean working on new music.
