Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift Lead The 2019 VMAs Nominations With 10 Nods Each

The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards nominations are out,and some stars have snagged more than a handful.Both Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande tie for the most nominations,with 10 nods each,among them Video of the Year,Song of the Year and Best Pop.

Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish are next,with 8 and 9 nominations respectively,and are up against each other in the Best New Artist category. The two breakout stars have had a huge year so far,that saw them catapult up the charts. Lil Nas in particular has especially had success with his monster hit Old Town Road still at #1 on the Billboard Hot 1o0 and has tied Mariah Carey and Boyz 2 Men’s record of 16 weeks atop the chart.

Pop’s tremendous popularity has seen the Korean genre snag a category and BTS are bound to carry the day,if all the smash hits to their belt right now are anything to go by.
