Say What? Nicki Minaj Contemplates Going Into Retirement

Rap superstar and HipHop bigwig Nicki Minaj is contemplating retiring,according to her last Insragram post. The award-winning rapper has had quite the whirlwind run the last year since her last album Queen dropped,grappling with numerous comparisons with newbie Cardi B and immense hate on and offline.

After what may be her most tumultuous year yet, Nicki Minaj has something albeit unprecedented up her sleeves. The retirement announced came at a time when the star is in a new phase of life. She got engaged to her new man Kenneth Petty and revealed that they were bound to get married in a few weeks. Just about a fortnight ago,she changed her twitter name to Mrs Petty and it was heavily speculated that they could have gotten married already. Then there is the critically acclaimed Queen Radio on Apple Music that has broken a myriad records. Suffice to say,she has it all going on for her.

Recently,she dropped the summer anthem Hot Girl Summer with fellow rapstress Meghan Thee Stallion and Ty Dolla $ign that has been a hit with the summer bunnies. Except,predictably,there was bound to be backlash,especially if it has anything to Nicki Minaj. The video is rather raunchy,and some people feel Nicki Minaj should not be caught up in the twerking wave,as evidenced in the overtly suggestive dancing in the video,coupled with the scanty outfits. This could have prompted her to make the swift decision,or at least contemplate doing it. The announcement sent the internet into a frenzy,with lots wondering why she would even think of going the retirement way. Earlier this morning,she took to Instagram and admitted that the way she did the announcement was rather insensitive and made a promise: She will be putting everything into perspective on Queen Radio’s next episode. All fingers crossed.
