Written by on September 27, 2019

After months of major speculation, it is now common knowledge that Jennifer Lopez is officially headlining the 2020 Superbowl Halftime Show. Last night, the superstar took to social and basically confirmed with a shot of her in a leather outfit that she will be taking the stage at the 2020 Superbowl, slated for 2/02/2019. All that and then some: Shakira will be co-headlining too! Talk of a Latino overload!

Both JLo and Shakira have sold millions of records worldwide and are indisputably one of the biggest stars of Latino descent. Another major attribute about both is that they have records in both Spanish and English. Shakira is a 3-time Grammy winner and while JLo may not have any Grammys under her belt, she has a myriad Billboard-topping smash hits and a multihyphenated career to boot.

The 2020 Halftime Show will go down at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and will  be the first to be produced by Roc Nation and, after Jay Z’s controversial affiliation recently. The Superbowl has in the recent past been the subject of public scrutiny after the NFL’s stance on Colin Kaepernick’s kneeling during the national anthem. Artistes like Rihanna and Pink boycotted headlining offers for the 2019 Superbowl,in their to show allegiance to Kaepernick.
