Murugi Munyi, a content creator and influencer, recently opened up about her past financial and career choices.

Munyi revealed that she decided to leave her first job due to her desire to be with her colleague and now partner, Zach. Additionally, she shared that overspending was once a habit of hers.

In a candid conversation on financially incorrect podcast, Murugi shared her story as she emphasized the challenges of working alongside a romantic interest in a professional setting.

The influencer expressed that the situation became uncomfortable, thereby affecting her focus and as a result, she decided to quit the job.

I met my husband at the place I was working. I left the place because I was in a relationship, and we were in the same department. it was awkward, not like I was reporting to him, but it was not just nice working with someone you have a permanent sexual connection with.

The reality is that I can’t focus, that’s how I felt and so one of us had to leave, I trusted my ability to get another job. plus he had money.

The content creator also shed light on her personal life, detailing her inclination towards overspending and the steps she is taking to address this behaviour.

Munyi acknowledged that this habit has hindered her from building tangible assets,  as she divulged that she is actively working on this aspect with a therapist.

I spend money so much because I know it is coming back. Sometimes that can be a bit of an issue and I am addressing it with a therapist currently as we speak.

I tend to just overspend. even when I got a well-paying job, I wasn’t saving. now at least, I save and I am also and I am also investing.

I have nothing to show what I did with the money I got from employment. my husband was doing everything for me. he was paying school fees for my son, rent. I think I was just spending on the good life.” she disclosed.

Despite acknowledging her past overspending Murugi maintained that she has not experienced significant financial hardship in her adult life.
