Gospel musician Christopher Mosioma aka Embarambamba has alleged that the fine imposed by the Kenya Film Classification Board for ‘indecent’ music has been reduced.

The musician was issued a demand letter over non-compliance with the Films and Stage Play Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya, the Management of the Kenya Film Classification Board.

They informed him he had violated Sections 4 (Part II) and 12 of the Cap 222 governing the creation, broadcasting, possession, distribution, and exhibition of audio-visual content in Kenya.

On March 4th the musician had been slapped with a Ksh 6.4 million fine and was summoned to the KFCB headquarters to discuss his inappropriate music.

The Niko Uchi singer on his social media on March 20 said he was issued a second demand letter that reduced his fine.

He further said he was having a sleepless night because of the second demand letter.

“Wanasema wamenipea miezi mbili nilipe license ya nyimbo zangu nimeimba,” he shared his struggles

He appealed to Kenyans to contribute and help him pay the fine. Explaining why he needs help, the Kisii-based singer said,

“Wakenya hata mahali nimefika naweza kuchanganyikiwa. Kwasababu hata usingizi sijapata. Tangu nione 6.4million sa hii wamereduce wamesema nilipe 1.38 something kuelekea hapo. Nilipe license ya nyimbo zangu nimeimba ili niendelee na uimbaji.”

“Najua waKenya please naweza kuchanganyikiwa sasa sijui vile mtanisaidia Governors, Senators, MCA’s wajumbe, na wale wote mumebarikiwa kwa hii dunia ya Kenya. Please sijui vile mtanisaidia ili niendelee na hii uimbaji. Kwasababu niemchanganyikiwa na usingizi sija pata,” he appealed further.

In the first demand letter, Christopher was to delete all his music videos, get a new filming license, and submit his videos for evaluation.
