Second term to commence on the 13th of May.

President William Ruto has ordered for the reopening of all schools on Monday, May 13th.
The head of state made the announcement at State House, Nairobi after a meeting with leaders from Laikipia North and Kajiado Central.
The leaders were led by their respective Members of Parliament Sarah Lekorere and Elijah Memusi respectively.
His decision comes after advice from the Kenya Meteorological Department told him that the heavy rains had subsided.
The reopening comes just a week after the suspension of school reopening.
“The Ministry of Education is directed to postpone the dates of reopening of all schools in the country for the second term until further notice,as meteorological reports paint a dire picture. The rains will continue to increase in both duration and intensity for the rest of this month and possibly after” the President said.
Initially, schools were to open on the 29th of April but will now open on the 13th of May 2024.
