Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has taken the initiative to help Kimani Mbugua and veteran journalist Eunice Omollo.

In an interview with Oga Obinna, Mike Sonko decided to showcase his giving nature and help those in dire need of help.

During the interview, Oga Obinna highlighted Kimani Mbugua’s drug situation and how the family was struggling with helping the bipolar journalist.

Oga said that he started a fundraiser to help him get professional help.

“ Tunachanga changa we are trying to help him get back on his feet, he is a very talented gentleman, he is going places.

I sat with the dad he said he( Kimani) was drugged and since then it’s been a relapse. We are planning on putting him in rehab for about a year so at least atoke akiwa sawa.

Ako Mathari at the moment.”

Touched by Obinna’s words, Sonko plainly said that he would relocate Kimani to Mombasa Women’s Hospital where he would be rehabilitated.

“We can agree with the parents, we discharge him from Mathare I will clear the bill and then we can transfer him to where Conjestina is. It’s called Mombasa Women’s Hospital it’s a rehab and we have professional doctors there nitamlipia hiyo bill ya huko pia.”

Extending his generosity he volunteered to take Kimani’s parents for a vacation when they will visit their son in Mombasa

“Wazazi wake pia nitawapeleka huko na nitawapatia holiday ya one week nikona hoteli huko”

With the heavy weight of Kimani out of Obinna’s chest, he decided that the money they were contributing for his treatment would shift focus to Eunice Omollo who is also suffering a similar case.

The altruistic Sonko offered to also chip in on Eunice’s expenses and help clear her rent areas.

“I will also chip in something kidogo nisaidie hapo kwa Eunice Omollo.”
