Celebrated media personality Olive Burrows will debut on Citizen TV on Saturday, June 1st, 2024.

Burrows, previously a prominent figure at NTV, was brought in to replace Victoria Rubadiri on the Citizen Weekend team.

She will be co-anchoring the Saturday and Sunday Live Primetime show alongside veteran news anchor Jeff Koinange.

Expressing her excitement about the new role, Burrows stated that she was happy to be joining Royal Media Services as it would take her career to the next level.

This move marks a significant step in her broadcasting career, promising an exciting new dynamic for Citizen TV’s weekend primetime news.

“I am incredibly honored to have joined the team. They have received me with open arms. And as iron sharpens iron, I look forward to a season of growth,”

“As a journalist, I’m keen to promote good governance and accountability with my news reports, and on Citizen Weekend you can expect to get the Kenyan perspective on global events. And if there’s anything the Covid pandemic taught us, it’s that we are never far removed from places we once thought were far removed from our part of the world,” she said in an interview with Citizen Digital.

Burrows worked at Nation Media Group for 6 years before leaving for greener pastures. She also worked at Capital FM as a news reader.

“I love you guys. It has been an absolute privilege working here at the Nation Media Group for the last six years.

“They took a chance on me, and it has paid off, not just careerwise but also the friendships, and we remain comrades in arms because this craft we are in together for the greater good of Kenyans,” Burrows said.

Victoria Rubadiri joined CNN on 3rd May.
