Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal had a convincing 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League. Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka scored the goals for Arsenal.
The match at the Emirates Stadium showcased a dominant performance from Arsenal, serving as a warning to the rest of the Champions League.
The Gunners started strong, with Bukayo Saka narrowly missing the target with a curled effort in the opening 5 minutes.
They continued to build momentum and took the lead when Kai Havertz headed in a pinpoint cross from Leandro Trossard in the 20th minute.
Despite PSG’s attempts to rally, including a post-rattling shot from Nuno Mendes and a save by David Raya from Achraf Hakimi, Arsenal extended their lead to 2-0 when Bukayo Saka’s free-kick beat Gianluigi Donnarumma.
In the second half, Arsenal maintained their dominance, while PSG struggled to make an impact.
PSG’s late push was ineffective, with a weak effort from Lee Kang-in comfortably saved.
The victory allowed Arsenal to move ahead of PSG in the Champions League table, making a strong statement to their critics.
Following this win, Arteta’s men will face Southampton on Saturday, while PSG will return to Ligue 1 action against OGC Nice on Sunday.
