The Eliud Kipchoge Foundation has received significant support from COROS, a global company specialising in performance sports wearables.
COROS will be running a Black Friday event from November 29 to December 3, during which the company plans to donate 5% of all proceeds from direct sales to the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation.
This financial boost will be essential for ensuring that Eliud Kipchoge and his team can effectively carry out their duties in 2025.
The funds raised will be allocated towards building a new library equipped with books and resources for individual research and learning.
This will be the second library constructed by the foundation; the first opened in 2022 at Kapsisiywa Secondary School in Chesumei Sub County, Nandi County, with funding from former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
That library currently has 30 computers with internet access.
The remaining funds from the first project were used to construct 10 classrooms, an administration block, and to extend the perimeter wall.
The new library aims to provide a safe community space for young people, with COROS customers directly contributing to educational empowerment.
Additionally, the funds will support the construction of classrooms for educational sessions aimed at local youth.
Eliud Kipchoge expressed his gratitude to COROS for their charitable efforts and emphasised the importance of education.
“Growing up in Kenya, I know that access to books and knowledge is not always available to everyone. Libraries open doors to endless possibilities. By building more, we extend knowledge and create lasting change,” said the two-time Olympic champion.
The Eliud Kipchoge Foundation is a non-profit organisation that is dedicated to promoting education and environmental sustainability.
Founded in 2020, its mission and main goal is to enhance access to education and empower the next generation through various educational and environmental initiatives.
