Conor McGregor wax figure removed from museum.

A wax figure of Conor McGregor has been removed from the National Wax Museum Plus in Dublin.

The museum decided to take the figure of the mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter out of public view two weeks ago due to his ongoing civil trial.

On Friday, a jury at the High Court in Dublin found McGregor liable for assaulting Nikita Hand, ruling that he raped her in a hotel in Dublin in December 2018.

As a result, McGregor was ordered to pay Ms. Hand nearly €250,000 (£206,000) in damages.

In a statement, the museum explained, “As a family-friendly attraction, we regularly review our exhibits to ensure they align with our values and the expectations of our visitors.

We will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions about future displays accordingly.”

The figure of McGregor was one of the museum’s more popular attractions, especially among tourists.

A spokesperson for the museum noted that many visitors featured McGregor in their photographs taken at the museum.

McGregor’s father, Tony McGregor, unveiled the wax figure in August 2017.

Following the verdict in the civil rape case, several companies announced they would discontinue selling products associated with Conor McGregor.

The company that now owns a whiskey originally co-founded by McGregor stated that it would no longer use his name or image for marketing purposes.

A representative for Proximo Spirits confirmed that it has been the “100% owner of Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey since 2021.”

Belfast bar Filthy McNasty’s, located on Dublin Road, announced it is suspending the sale of McGregor’s Forged branded stout, which it helped launch in December 2023.

The bar, which features a mural promoting the brand on its exterior, informed the Irish News that it is “currently awaiting” the removal of the mural.

Additionally, the pub chain JD Wetherspoon has also pulled products linked to McGregor.
