Celeb Profile: Rixx – The Talented Producer Behind Naiboi’s 2 In 1

I had an opportunity to speak with Rixx – a young producer who is taking the industry by storm. The 23-year-old is the chap behind Naiboi’s latest single 2 in 1.
He has also produced Dinda and a couple of other hits.
Rixx opened up about his upbringing, how he ended up at Pacho Records and future plans.
What’s your official name? Cedric Eric Njenga
Describe your upbringing? I come from Gatundu North in Kiambu County. I grew up just like any other kid, we were neither rich nor poor.
Which high school did you attend? I went to Nyamangara High School.
How did you acquire the production skills? Production has been in me since I was young. I used to play the piano in church. When I was in Form 2, I would skip school and go to a nearby studio to learn new things and from that I just developed my skills.
How did you end up at Pacho Records? It happened after I met Cedo, he made me understand the power that I have as a music producer. I had suffered for a while but when I met him my life changed completely.
Which songs are you known for? Naiboi’s latest single 2 in 1, Dinda. I have done a couple of songs its just that most of them don’t have videos.
Which famous people have you worked with? Rankaddah, Nyashinski, Nameless, Naiboi, Sauti Sol, Jegede, Rosa just to name a few.
How do you unwind? When I’m not producing, I listen to things that motivate me. Sometimes I visit my fellow producers to learn one or two things from them.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? I see myself becoming a great music producer, not producing local but also international music. I’d like to push African music to the next level and mentor aspiring producers.
