J Lo And Shakira Walked Away Without A Dime After Superbowl

Written by on February 4, 2020

The world is still abuzz over J Lo and Shakira’s spectacle of a performance at the 2020 Superbowl Halftime show. While the two are no strangers to selling out arenas and raking in million of bucks on a single night, you would be forgiven to think they made just as much after coheadlining the Superbowl.

Turns out the two stars and all their headlining predecessors walk away without a dime. Customarily,Superbowl headliners receive no remuneration. The NFL covers all the costs that arise from production to performance regalia. In the event of of cameo appearances a la J Balvin and Bad Bunny’s,the headliners do not part with a coin as the NFL again foots the bill.

Playing the Superbowl is tantamount to an exponential increase in streams-the Halftime show is the most watched show in the US. After Justin Timberlake’s performance in 2018,his streams spike by a whooping 214% while Lady Gaga’s Joanne album made its way back to the Billboard 200 chart after her performance the year before. Suffice to say,the relationship is as symbiotic as they come!
