Audio/Video Review: The Other Side-SZA,Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake and SZA are bringing sexy back with this funky,new duet.

They are both star-rated RnB crooners and hitmakers,each with a reputable catalogue in their own right. Suffice to say that it is only right that they brought their creative juices together for the creation gem of a soundtrack. Their ability to create soundtracks that also prove crossover hits could also have necessitated this collaboration. SZA sang on Black Panther’s All the Stars, her hit collab with Kendrick Lamar. Titled The Other Side, it is the lead single off of the animated film Trolls World Tour that Timberlake also stars in with Anna Kendrick. The film is a sequel to 2016’s Trolls that bore Timberlake’s  Grammy-winning soundtrack Can’t Stop the Feeling and which culminated as the year’s best-selling record.

The Other Side is a groovy song that is reminiscent of JT’s classic sound. The video shows him and SZA dance around against a silvery backdrop. Another notable aesthetic is the vintage fish-eyed lens characteristic of Hype Williams-directed 90s videos by acts such as Missy Elliott and Diddy.

The soundtrack album drops March 13 while the film is available on April 17.
