GRAMMY NOMINATIONS ARE OUT!

The nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards were revealed on Tuesday. The first round of voting began on 13 October and ended on 23 October this year. A final round of voting to determine the winners will take place on 14 December.

Beyoncé led among nominees with nine nods for her album “Renaissance.” Kendrick Lamar scored eight nominations, while Adele and Brandi Carlile each got seven.

Five new categories have been introduced this year, including Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical), Best Alternative Music Performance, and Best Americana Performance, plus a special award to the Best Song for Social Change.

Nigerian singers Burna Boy, Tems, and Wizkid are currently the topic of discussion after the recording academy announced the nominees for the 2023 Grammys. Afro-fusion act Burna Boy clinched nods for his ‘Love Damini’ under the category of “Best Global Music Album” as well as “Last Last” for “Best Global Performance.” Talented Nigerian songstress Tems received three major nominations in the categories of “Best Rap Song” and “Best Melodic Rap Performance” for her contribution to the hit collaboration with Future and Drake titled “Wait for you”.

You might think every artist wants a grammy award as it is the highlight of their career, well surprisingly some stars who don’t want nominations at all. Bruno Mars and Anderson. Paak announced that they are not submitting their album An Evening With Silk Sonic for consideration at the 2023 Grammys.
“Andy and I, and everyone that worked on this project, won the moment the world responded to ‘Leave The Door Open.’ Everything else was just icing on the cake,” he added. “We thank the Grammys for allowing us to perform on their platform — not once but twice — and awarding us at last year’s ceremony. We’d be crazy to ask for anything more.”
