I don’t like to compare eras because it’s very different from Maradona, to Pele, to now the Messi era, but watching him, playing against him, it’s evident that he does things in a unique manner. 

A lot of people can score hat tricks. But what Messi does on a football pitch, no one else can do. 

And that’s why he’s the GOAT.

Messi finally prevailed as a World Cup champion title in one of the most memorable finals in history after Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties after a 3-3 draw through extra time.

It certainly didn’t come easy for Messi, Kylian Mbappe made him work hard for the trophy he has long craved by scoring two goals in 97 seconds. After holding a 2-0 lead for much of the match, Kylian Mbappé scored twice in less than two minutes to even the score in the 81st minute, sending the game to extra time.

The France forward evened the score again after Messi put Argentina back in front in extra time. Messi scored in the 108th minute on a chaotic goal that looked like it would win the match for Argentina. However, La Albiceleste was called for a handball in the box in the 116th minute, which allowed Mbappé to score on a penalty kick and sent the match to a shootout.
