Zuchu: “My dad had no interest in me.”

Zuchu is the daughter of the renowned Tanzanian Taarab singer Khadija Kopa. 

In a TikTok video, Zuchu shared that her mother made every effort to establish a relationship between her and her father, but without success. 

“The things my mom did for my dad I would never have given him a child. She used to force my father to be close to me.”

Strangely, they have never stopped communicating, but my dad never asks about me. 

My mom would say, ‘Zuhura is here; talk to her,’ but my dad shows no interest. My mom did a lot for him, and he just didn’t want me,” she revealed.

Zuchu also mentioned that her father has remarried. “I always wanted to have a relationship with him. 

I knew where he lived, but I understood that his new wife and their children were more important to him at the time. However, my mom has never kept me away from him,” she added.

In a March 2024 interview on Wasafi FM, Khadija Kopa discussed her experiences with younger men. 

She expressed difficulty in finding a man her age and stated, “I’ve seen them, but I don’t want boys. God has not granted me the will to find a mature man.”

The legendary artist emphasised her preference for older companions, asserting that younger suitors do not interest her. 

“I tell them they are kids; they don’t deserve me, and I advise them to look for younger women. I don’t have time for that,” she said.

Kopa’s late husband, Jaffary Ally who was not Zuchu’s biological father passed away in 2013 after a brief illness in Bagamoyo.

She fondly remembers his love and support, often mentioning him during her stage performances. 

She also lost her only son, Omar Kopa, a talented Taarab singer, a few years ago

Since then, Khadija Kopa has remained a household name and is currently in a relationship with her boss.

The couple has been together for over two years.
