Written by on September 22, 2019

Jennifer Lopez just recreated her most iconic red carpet look of all time-the fiercely plunging jungle green dress she wore to the 2000 Grammys. If there ever has been an utterly daring red carpet look, J Lo’s 2000 Grammys look is which. So grave was its notoriety, that google devised one of its most invaluable features, the google image search engine. At a time where the naked dress trend was still getting the side eye,J Lo’s intrepid look was bound to be the talk of Hollywood. Designed by Donatella Versace, the gown still gets insurmountable reverence, almost 20 years later.

During Versace’s Milan Fashion Week show,Jennifer Lopez made a rather unprecedented entrance closing out the show. To the utter surprise of the guests,J Lo strutted down the runway in a remake of the dress. Though uncannily similar, the new version has a few updates like cutouts at the waist,it is sleeveless, and has embellishments. The loud cheering from the guests was testament to the nostalgia the dress prompted, and they could not help bur whip out their phones to record the moment. In an interview with Vogue, shot to mark the dress’ 20th anniversary, J Lo quipped: “It was one of those perfect moments. I walked out on stage and it kind of blew open and the dress was just provocative enough I guess to make people really interested.”

The superstar is currently riding high on the success of her new movie that she produced and stars in dubbed ‘Hustlers,’ and that also stars Cardi B and Keke Palmer. The movie made $33 million in its opening week at the American box office in its opening weekend.
