Two brothers and an activist who went missing on August 19, 2024, after participating in an anti-government protest in Kitengela, have been found alive in Kiambu County.
Activist Bob Njagi was found alive in Tigoni, Kiambu County.
Faith Odhiambo, the President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), confirmed that Bob Njagi, the organizer of the Free Kenya Movement, was found alive.
She stated that Njagi appeared at the Tigoni police station after escaping from his kidnappers in the area.
“At seven o’clock at night, Bob Njagi managed to find his way to the Tigoni police station and received help. He is alive,” Odhiambo said.
The LSK president also confirmed that the activist had sent her a message, assuring her of his safety.
“A message from Bob and family,
‘To family, friends, and every Kenyan who has continued to pray for me, I want to confirm that I am healthy and with my family. Now is the time to calm down, be grateful for life. and for everyone to reflect on why Kenya is important,”
Njagi said, according to the LSK president.
At the same time the president of LSK said that two brothers Jamil and Aslay Longton were found dumped in Gachie, Kiambu County.
Jamil Longton and his brother Aslam were dumped at the Gachie border of Kiambu and Nairobi by their captors.
Odhiambo said the release of the three was due to the case they presented in court and pressure from social organizations.
The release of the three came a few hours after the new Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja maintained that the three were not in police custody.
