Aaron Pierre voices Mufasa in the new live-action remake of The Lion King and recently graced the cover of GQ Magazine with stunning photographs.

In the article, the actor discusses his breakthrough year, confronting his fears, and his excitement about playing Green Lantern.

At 30 years old, Pierre shared that The Lion King was his favorite movie as a child.

He cherished the film for the same reasons it achieved critical and commercial success, spawned animated sequels, and became a Broadway sensation: the music, the artwork, and the concept of the circle of life.

Watching his West African roots celebrated vividly on the big screen resonated deeply with him. “I just felt seen, I felt heard, I felt included,” he says. “Rather than just observing, I felt like I was a part of it.”

The opportunity to lend his voice to the franchise was intimidating.

“When it comes to certain decisions I make in my career, I tend to embrace opportunities that challenge me to grow, evolve, and gain a deeper understanding of myself as an artist, and more importantly, as a man and as a human being,” Pierre explained. “So, I just went for it.”

To prepare, he underwent intense vocal exercises and participated in a weeks-long musical boot camp with a team organized by the film’s songwriter, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The experience was rigorous, filled with vocal drills and tennis-ball exercises. Pierre was required to sing three songs, including a duet with Tiffany Boone, which demanded him to hit octaves he had never reached before.

Initially, he doubted himself, saying, “The first time I heard some of these songs, I thought, ‘I don’t think I can ever do that.’”

However, Miranda continued to challenge him, helping him reach a higher vocal range. “I think those incremental moments of progress really inspire you to keep pushing,” Pierre noted.

With his broad shoulders, tattoos, captivating hazel eyes, and powerful voice, the Mufasa star has garnered admiration from female fans worldwide.

Pierre attributes his success to pursuing projects that challenge him and align with his authenticity.

He stated, “I have a habit of leaning into opportunities that make me nervous and help me grow and learn more about myself as an artist, and more importantly, as a man and as a human being.”

Recently, fans have begun recreating Aaron Pierre’s “That’s Mufasa” video after witnessing his dance moves during his appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Additionally, Google search trends indicate a surge of interest in his dating life, with many curious about his partner.
