Akothee- “I date one man at a time.”

Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, widely known as Akothee, has shared her experiences regarding her recurring breakups with her partner, Nelly Oaks. 

In a recent statement, the mother of five clarified that she has never wronged him throughout their nearly decade-long relationship. 

Akothee emphasised that, contrary to popular belief, it is Nelly who has consistently initiated their conflicts and breakups over the past ten years of their romantic journey.

“No woman will leave a good relationship. I see many people think I’m the one who picks him up and then drops him, but let me start the year with the truth. He is the one who has always started our fights and breakups,” Akothee shared on Instagram.

She added, “As a woman, when I reach my limit, I choose to walk away and live my life because I have a life within the life we have together. We go our separate ways and focus on our own paths, but the challenge is the strong bond between us.”

The artist continued to explain what happens each time they part ways.

“Each time we break up, I block him and delete his number, but when our paths cross again, we pick up where we left off. Don’t get it twisted: I am a faithful, genuine, and loving partner,” she said.

The 43-year-old musician emphasised that she only has one relationship at a time and never dates more than one man at once.

She also stressed that it takes the effort of both partners to make a relationship work.

“I love him with all my loyalty. I am a woman who dates one man at a time,” she stated.

The two have been in an on-and-off relationship for a long time.

They had previously broken up several times, with Akothee even taking steps to marry another man last year. However, they ultimately reconciled and continued their relationship.
