TikTok sensation Alma Mutheu is once again in the spotlight after discussing how her comments about being the sole provider in her relationship with Gift Muziq created tension between them.

In an interview with Morin Actress, Mutheu expressed her deep regret about the remarks she made during a joint appearance on the Obinna Show Live in December of last year.

She acknowledged that she only realised the impact of her words immediately after the interview ended.

According to her, Gift Muziq appeared visibly hurt, prompting her to apologise right away.

“Immediately after the interview, I realised I had gone beyond the limits in what I said. So, I apologised to him immediately because he was looking dull; he felt like I overstepped. I apologised immediately as a form of damage control, but he has been telling me that it is something that hurt him,” she said.

Despite the apology, the damage had already been done. Mutheu admitted that she did not follow up with Gift Muziq to see whether her words had motivated him to take action.

Instead, she chose to focus on moving forward, though with lingering fears about repeating the same mistake in future relationships.

“At the moment, I don’t know if I’m ready to start again with someone because the first time I did that, this is what happened to me. I’ve got those fears and insecurities – what if this guy ends up like the first one? What if we reach a point and start experiencing the same issues?” she confessed.

The Interview That Sparked It All

In the now-infamous December interview, Mutheu openly expressed her frustrations about being the primary provider in the relationship, a statement many perceived as publicly humiliating to Gift.

“It gets to a certain point where, as a woman, you get tired of doing everything,” she said. “It’s fine – not everyone is able, but you can’t stay with a person for a very long time, like three years, two years, and after all that time, you’re still the one providing as a woman.”

Mutheu also noted that her intention was not to bash Gift but to express her frustration about the imbalance in their relationship.

“I’m not complaining, and I’m not saying Gift is a bad person. Gift is someone who can work for himself if pushed,” she added.

As Mutheu spoke, Gift Muziq, who was seated next to her, appeared visibly uncomfortable; he bowed his pink-dyed head and stared at the floor.

Later, he contested some of Mutheu’s statements, clarifying that they did not live together as she had suggested.

“I didn’t move into her house. We each live separately,” Gift Muziq clarified.
