Benny Hinn: “There are two things I regret in my gospel ministry”

World-renowned evangelist Benny Hinn, originally from Israel and now based in the United States, has apologised for allowing what he described as false testimonies and prophecies in his evangelistic meetings.

Speaking on a podcast, Hinn expressed regret for letting false prophecies circulate in some of his evangelistic meetings around the world, stating that he regrets those actions.

The evangelist, famous for his televised sermons, said that he is human and sometimes makes mistakes. He asked those who follow his sermons on television from various parts of the world to forgive him.

“We are human, and we all make mistakes. If there are two things I regret in my gospel ministry, it is that I have not been wise enough on several occasions and the testimonies of prophecy. I had guests who came to the evangelistic meetings who, I think, caused trouble not only in people’s lives but also damaged my reputation because their prophecies were not true,” Hinn said with regret.

The pastor, who held a major evangelistic meeting in Kenya earlier this year, admitted that some of his guests at the meetings went beyond testimonies of deliverance, stating that such claims were undoubtedly false.

“There were times I thought God had shown me something, and I spoke. Unfortunately, I wish I could go back and address that. Some of the prophecies were not accurate or from the Lord. For that, I ask for people’s forgiveness. I am only human.”

“Some of them went beyond deliverance, and you know, anything beyond deliverance is not prophecy. We should not allow that to happen; I allowed it but later banned it. But that was several years ago when I stopped it,” he added.

It is noteworthy that during his healing event in Kenya earlier this year, attended by President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto, one of the notable incidents was First Daughter Charlene Ruto coming forward and asking to be prayed for to find a husband.
