Nigerian socialite and transgender woman, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, has revealed that she could not urinate for two months following a surgery that lasted about 16 hours.

Bobrisky shared that she underwent several successful surgeries this year.

“As 2024 is ending, I want to thank all my doctors who worked on my transition into a woman. I look at myself and applaud my courage for undergoing multiple procedures successfully.

My last surgery took 16 hours in the operating room. I couldn’t urinate for two months, but now baby girl can spread her legs,” she stated.

When a fan inquired if she had undergone genital surgery, she replied with a simple “Yes.”

Previous Scandals

Bobrisky is known for her extravagant lifestyle. In April of this year, she was arrested for abusing the Naira currency after being seen spraying cash at an event.

Following her release on bail, she was re-arrested while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria. She pleaded guilty to four counts of currency abuse at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Bobrisky received a six-month prison sentence.

According to the BBC, she had also faced similar charges at other events throughout the year; however, two counts of money laundering were dismissed by the court.

Her lawyer, Ayo Olumofin, argued that Bobrisky was a first-time offender and should be treated accordingly.

In addition, the BBC reported that two senior Nigerian prison officials were suspended due to bribery allegations related to Bobrisky’s case.

These claims originated from social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, who alleged that anti-corruption officials were bribed to dismiss money laundering charges against Bobrisky.

In a leaked video, an individual purportedly identified as Bobrisky claimed to have paid $9,000 (£7,000) to officials at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have the charges dropped, and it was alleged that she also paid millions of Naira for a private apartment near the prison where she was said to have served her sentence.

Bobrisky denied these allegations in an Instagram post, stating,

“I didn’t pay any money to the EFCC; that is a very big lie. I served my term fully, and I am now out. Disregard any false information.”
