Chebet Ronoh announces she’s going veg.

Content creator Chebet Ronoh has decided to temporarily adopt a vegetarian lifestyle as part of her broader effort to change certain habits. 

A vegetarian diet eliminates meat from meals, often focusing on salads, legumes, and fruits. 

On her social media, Ronoh expressed her hope that this dietary shift will assist her in quitting weed and alcohol.

“So, I am going vegan for a while. I feel like my soul is crying out for an awakening that I can no longer resist,” she wrote. 

“There is a lot I’m giving up—weed and liquor dependency. I’m only surrounding myself with family and genuine love.”

Ronoh is undergoing what she describes as a spiritual awakening.

“I recently met a spiritual teacher who confirmed what I already knew I needed to do. Thank you, universe and God. I am open to learning,” she continued. 

“I owe my body respect and love—no more violence to myself or others, including animals.”

Known for her openness, Ronoh has publicly shared her struggle with alcohol addiction. In an interview with Lynn Ngugi, she explained that she hopes her journey can inspire others to embrace wellness and self-care. 

Reflecting on her path to sobriety, she noted, “I wasn’t drinking to have fun. I came to realize that many coping mechanisms we have… alcohol was a creeping monster in my life.” 

What began as a social activity quickly turned into a coping mechanism, leading her to experience blackout episodes.

Ronoh’s drinking habit lasted about a year and a half, affecting her finances, health, and relationships. 

“I’ve been to rehab twice. My first time was forced,” she admitted. 

Cyberbullying also took a toll on her mental health, pushing her towards alcohol as an escape. Ultimately, she chose to seek help on her own, walking into a rehab centre independently. 

“I wanted to change. I said if it’s liquor, let’s go to rehab,” she concluded.
