COVID-19 a threat to human touch and interaction.

Written by on April 15, 2020

We honestly didn’t know just how important human contact and relationships were to us before COVID-19.  During this time, we have been able to acknowledge that social media is not everything. Before this, we dove ourselves into technology through our phones and TV and now, none of that matters. We just want to go outside and be around people!

It’s now evident that we are social creatures that require human contact and interactions to survive. Why is this so?

Human contact is mostly important for our mental health because human interaction and socializing helps us deal with life issues that need support such as heartbreaks, confusion and especially the anxiety that has come with the coronavirus pandemic.

Depression is also countered by others valuing you and spending their time with you. Self-Isolation lock us out of that privilege. A new born baby experiences touch the minute they come into the world, making a key factor for our survival on earth.

When you are sick, it’s been proven that people who have loved once around them to interact with often heal from even the most dire of diseases such as cancer. Loneliness and lack of human touch in turn causes cardiovascular diseases.

Socializing and human connection is vital for the economical growth of a nation. Without it, ideas are not being developed and businesses are not being natured.

The coronavirus is not only detrimental to our health, its cause for self-isolation and quarantine is dangerous to the human race in general.
