Nurse Judy’s husband, Denis Pasha, recently shared a lengthy post online detailing his journey from humble beginnings to success.
In his account, the father of two opened up about the challenges they faced while trying to maintain a facade of a better lifestyle, despite struggling financially and losing one of his main sources of income.
According to Pasha, the pressure to live beyond their means stemmed from Judy, who has always had an eye for the finer things in life.
He began his post with a reflection on a Christmas photo from 2017, reminiscing about their time living in Umoo, Tena Estate, while misleading friends into believing they lived in Buru.
He wrote, “LONG POST ALERT: Xmas Photo 2017… Back then, I was pretending to my friends that we lived in Buru… She was too embarrassed to say we lived in Umoo… It was the pressure of perceptions.”
Denis went on to explain how he eventually succumbed to Judy’s desire for a better life, moving their family to a new home that cost nearly three times more than their previous rent.
“But the pressure I was given to move from Umoo made me feel lost… That’s one thing about my wife; she never jokes about wanting a better life.
I was cornered until I had to level up! Within a year, I found myself in Imaara Daima, living in a decent gated apartment complex. It felt like we had moved to Miami!” he recalled.
However, the transition came with challenges. The increase in rent from 18,000 to a staggering 45,000, plus service charges and higher electricity costs due to the new apartment’s water pump, put significant financial strain on him.
While Judy did contribute a little, her earnings were modest, and their financial situation became dire, leading Denis to turn to loan applications to make ends meet.
Despite the hardships, he refused to be defeated. Instead, Denis felt motivated to find a way to support his family and accommodate the lifestyle they desired.
“I can’t lie… I was really struggling. I would pass by a Token place during that time, and it made me feel overwhelmed.
Judy couldn’t help much at that time since she had just started her first job, and her salary was not substantial.
“I was applying to almost every possible loan app available on Google Play Store… But I knew this wasn’t sustainable; I needed to find a long-term solution for my new reality.
I had also closed down a failing business—my pub in Umoo, which the authorities had financially drained.
So, I embarked on an aggressive job search to increase my income, applying for almost 30 jobs daily until I landed one that paid me double my previous salary,” the now successful businessman with a passion for travel shared.
In concluding his post, Pasha praised Judy for her ambition, highlighting how her insatiable desire for a better life pushed him out of his comfort zone, ultimately benefiting their entire family.
“Looking back, I appreciate how she has always encouraged me to strive for better and not settle for average. I couldn’t see it then, but sometimes you have to take the leap to truly soar,” he reflected.
Mid-last month, Judy also opened up about standing by her husband during their tough financial times.
She revealed that they faced significant struggles, even living in a tiny single room at one point, but she always believed that a brighter future awaited them.
