Shaikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum, a Dubai princess, announced on Instagram that she has allegedly divorced her husband.
The Dubai princess married Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Radhis bin Mana Al Maktoum last year.
Their wedding day was considered as the most extravagant wedding ceremony of 2023, and they celebrated their honeymoon in Mykonos, Greece.
“Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you. I divorce you, and I divorce you,” she wrote, ending with, “Take care, Your Ex-wife.”
According to Islamic customs, a woman can divorce her husband by uttering “ I DIVORCE YOU” thrice to the husband.
The divorce is known as the triple talaq and is counted as a real divorce.
Mahra is one of the 26 children of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the vice-president and Prime Minister of the UAE.
The princess has over 513,000 followers on social media.
She gained recognition for supporting local designers and advocating for women’s empowerment.
Earlier this year, the couple welcomed a child, but two months later, she removed all pictures of the child from her social media.
