Kenyans are known for two main things our partying styles and the “fake it till you make it” slogan.

People thrive on being importers and it has become a norm in our small country. From Jason Derulo to Cardi B now a Vybz Kartel imposter has risen.

As Kenyans eagerly anticipate dancehall artist Vybz Kartel’s first post-prison concert in December, a fake concert is making waves online.

An imposter claiming to be Vybz has surfaced, trying to ride on the artist’s fame.

On a TikTok page named DonAfrikaa (MR MAVYBZ), a man dressed in an all-white outfit with a red bandana, similar to what Vybz Kartel wore upon his release, is seen building up excitement near the Parliament building.

“Thank you KENYA 🇰🇪🔥 @vybzkartel,” he tags the Jamaican dancehall singer. Fans have been flocking to take pictures with him, mistaking him for the real Vybz Kartel.

Vybz Kartel, the real Vybz Kartel, who was released from prison two weeks ago, has already dropped a 12-track project titled “First Week Out,” marking his return.

To celebrate his newfound freedom, he has also gotten matching tattoos with his fiancée as a tribute to their relationship.

Currently, Vybz Kartel is focusing on his health, as he is dealing with Graves’ disease and a possible heart condition.

As Kenyans continue to celebrate his release, Vybz is sharing more about his priorities, including happiness. Kenya may be a key location for his upcoming concert.
