Huddah – “I decided to stop smoking marijuana”.

Huddah Monroe has emphasised the importance of maintaining a clear mind.

In a recent Instagram post, the socialite shared that she has decided to stop using marijuana, and since making this change, she has experienced greater mental clarity.

She also mentioned that she has reduced her alcohol consumption, stating that she rarely drinks these days.

“I decided to stop smoking marijuana, and now I barely drink. Let me tell you, a clear mind is everything,” Huddah conveyed on Instagram.

Scientific research supports her experience, as marijuana can impact mental clarity, particularly with frequent or heavy use.

The active ingredient in marijuana, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), interacts with the brain’s cannabinoid receptors, affecting a range of cognitive functions.

Short-term effects may include impaired memory, concentration, and altered perception. Long-term use, on the other hand, can lead to cognitive decline and mental health issues.

Earlier this year, Huddah also addressed the issue of alcohol addiction, stating that it is a significant problem not only in Kenya but across the African continent.

She shared that her research indicated alcohol made her feel angry, stubborn, and filled with resentment.

She added that although she used to believe marijuana was a better option than alcohol, she has since quit smoking it as well.

“Drinking these days is just for celebrating, not for getting drunk and causing trouble… When I drink, I become someone else—angry, resentful, and argumentative. Everything annoys me when I’m drunk,” she shared in June on her Instagram.

Huddah has often courted controversy with her candid statements. In the past, she has made comments that have sparked public debate, such as her stance that “Kenyan men are stingy,” and her claim that “Nairobi is too small for her,” suggesting she prefers dating internationally.
