“I made a bad bet!”Huddah regrets past decisons.

Socialite Huddah Monroe has publicly expressed her regret for what she calls her shameless support for President Ruto ahead of the August 2022 general elections.

In an Instagram story, Monroe reflected on her actions and claimed that the president has failed to deliver on many of the promises outlined in his manifesto.

She also criticised the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), stating that the system frequently experiences glitches, which makes it challenging for taxpayers to fulfil their obligations.

Monroe advised Kenyans not to trust a “poor man’s child” with the responsibility of leading them again.

“KRA systems keep failing, Kenya has turned into a big mess. Only a small village should be facing such issues. Now you know, never again give leadership to a poor man’s child. Maybe only if he has built a successful business on his own,” Monroe said.

“I made a bad bet! I am among those who shamelessly campaigned for him,” Huddah added.

This isn’t the socialite’s first criticism of President Ruto’s administration.

Back in 2023, she openly called out the government for the increase in fuel and food prices.

It is worth noting that Monroe was among the social media influencers who openly supported Ruto from as early as 2017 back when he was the deputy president.

When Ruto won the 2022 presidential election, Huddah was among the first people to celebrate his win.

She took to her Instagram page to share videos and photos celebrating his win.

“I am proud to be Kenyan from today. Africa needs strong, sensible, young leaders. Kenya has made a change for Africa. I will carry my flag and passport with pride from today. I am from Kenya, the greatest country in Africa.” Read the caption to her posts.
