Arsenal made a strong statement about their title credentials by beating Chelsea 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
The win puts them three points ahead of Liverpool in second place and four points ahead of champions Manchester City in third.
The match saw Kai Havertz and Ben White score twice each in the second half after Leandro Trossard had opened the scoring in an exciting first half.
This emphatic victory comes just a few days after Arsenal’s win against Wolves, and it cements their position at the top of the Premier League table.
The attention now shifts to Liverpool, who will face their rivals Everton (Merseyside derby) at Goodison Park on Wednesday, while Manchester City will play Brighton on Thursday.
Chelsea, on the other hand, suffered a heavy defeat in this London derby which is their heaviest since 1986.
This loss comes after their FA Cup semi-final loss to City at Wembley and dampens their chances of securing a European spot from a disappointing season.
How Arsenal blew Chelsea away
Arsenal produced a stunning second-half performance to secure a comprehensive victory against Chelsea.
The first half was more evenly balanced, with Trossard giving the hosts an early lead, but Arsenal created several chances to extend their advantage.
Chelsea grew in confidence as the half progressed and had opportunities to equalize.
At half-time, Arteta was able to address the issues in his midfield, and Arsenal quickly took control of the game.
White scored the second goal just seven minutes into the second half, and Havertz added a third only five minutes later.
The atmosphere at the Emirates was electric, and Havertz added a fourth goal later on.
White scored his second goal with a superbly executed volleyed cross, and Arsenal could have added even more goals.
The hosts had a total of 27 shots and looked increasingly likely to secure their first Premier League title in two decades.
It was a dominant performance from Arsenal that left Chelsea powerless to stop them.
