Kamene Goro – “Don’t be falling for these ninjas”

NRG radio presenter Kamene Goro opened up about her marriage to Dj Bonez during an episode she posted on her YouTube page.

“Now I’ve been married for like a year. I thought it would feel different, but not really. It’s just like some long-drawn dating. We don’t stop dating each other, and we’ve become friends, which is something you need to look out for,” Kamene explained.

She then warned her fans about falling for any man out there and advised them on who they should look to date for marriage,

“Don’t be falling for these ninjas you meet out here… That guy you put in the friend zone is probably gonna be the person you spend the rest of your life with. I’m just saying,” she advised.

She finished by revealing that she was taking her relationship from day to day,

“But am still in the experimental phase so we are gonna walk through that stage one day at a time,” she said.

In October 2020, Kamene shared the story of her first marriage with a Tanzanian-based South African tycoon. 

She explained that she quit her job at Ebru TV in 2014 to move to Tanzania and become a housewife for her husband.

Kamene had just begun her TV career when she met her husband, who lived in another country.

Despite her employer being given only two days’ notice, she left her job and settled in Tanzania at 23 or 24 to be with him. 

Although Kamene was happy and passionate about being his wife, the marriage only lasted a year before her husband ended it over the phone while she was visiting family in Nairobi. 

Reflecting on the tough end of the relationship, Kamene felt betrayed after sacrificing her job and dreams. 

She emphasised the importance of normalising heartbreak and failure, as they are part of life and can lead to success.
