Kanye, Jay Z And Drake Atop 2019’s Forbes Highest Paid Hiphop Acts

Written by on September 20, 2019

The annual Forbes highest hiphop acts list is out; brace yourself for some absolute surprises.

For the first time ever, Kanye is now the highest-earning hiphop act of 2019,according to Forbes. Yes sits pretty atop with $ 150 million, beating out Jay Z who comes in second with $ 81 million. This is also the first time Jay has lost out on the top spot to his former protege. The bulk of Ye’s impressive earnings come from his lucrative and very successful Adidas partnership ‘Yeezy,’ which is expected to rake in $ 27.5 million in 2019. This is obviously no mean milestone for Ye who, in 2018, was at #10 with $ 27.5 million.

He may have topped the list a myriad times in the past, but Diddy takes the third spot this time round, with $ 73 million. This year’s top 10 is predominantly consists only entirely of male rappers, with Drake,Eminem,Kendrick and Childish Gambino rounding up the list. Nicki Minaj and Cardi B are the only female acts in this year’s list, with $ 28 million and $ 27 million respectively.
