Singer Khaligraph Jones has announced that his upcoming album will target specific individuals who “won’t be happy” with it.
Known to fans as Papa Jones, Khaligraph hinted that he’s been paying attention to the rumour mill.
“My next album will cause conflicts from the first track to the last. Sensitive people should avoid it completely,” he warned.
The 2021 BET Award winner has recently been in the spotlight due to remarks made by “Gbaga Jat” singer Stoopid Boy, who appears to have a beef with Khaligraph.
In two interviews, Stoopid Boy claimed that Khaligraph relied on remixing songs with young artists to revive his music career.
Khaligraph responded separately, calling Stoopid Boy “an upcoming artist” he respects. In July 2024, Khaligraph spoke about his hiatus, stating, “My 2-year hiatus is coming to an end soon.
I haven’t been as active in the music field as I’d like to be, but some things had to be done. Soon enough, it will all be clear. #respecttheogs.”
On August 6th, he once again reassured his fans that he would be back soon, saying, “Ntarudi mziki soon 😅 #respecttheogs.”
Khaligraph’s lyrical prowess has earned him titles such as the best rapper in Kenya and Nigeria. He once even threatened to “take over” Tanzania, which led to a rap battle where he doubled down on his claim.
Explaining the strength of his lyrics in 2023, he said, “Rapping in English has helped me a lot, I won’t lie. I only started realizing that after I began traveling outside Kenya and saw how some of my songs, which didn’t perform so well back home, were well-received abroad. #respecttheogs.”
