LIKONI EMERGES VICTORIES IN 22 BET BODABODA CUP TOURNAMENT, COAST EDITION

Kwale 11^th October, 2021 the nation-wide BodaBoda cup coast edition finals took place in Kwale. Likoni team emerged victorious followed by Changamwe then Ukunda and Pogwe tied in third place. In attendance was Deputy Governor, Kwale County Fatuma Achani and CS Sports, Ramadhan Bungale

The objective of the Boda Boda Cup, under the #2Chungane campaign by 22Bet in partnership with Boda Boda Safety association of Kenya, is to promote road safety awareness among boda boda operators as well as to encourage behavioral change among the operators so as to change how the operators are perceived by the ordinary Kenyan. 

16 teams from coast region comprising of Mombasa, Kwale and Kilifi participated in the tournament. The knock-out stages were played and 8 teams were eliminated. Qualifiers in Kwale took place on 9^th October,2021.

For the finals, Likoni team emerged the best team after outshining their opponents in the penalties by 5 goals to 4. Trophies were then awarded to the 1^st & 2^nd positions- (Changamwe and Ukunda-Pongwe respectively) A cash prize award of KES 100,000 was also shared amongst the 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd positions in a 50:30:20 ratio.
