Man behind popular phrase ‘Kata simu tupo site” is dead

Popular Tanzanian Comedian Umar Lahbedi Issa alias Mzee wa Mjegeje has sadly passed away.
The comedian who is widely known for his popular phrase “Kata simu tupo site” sadly passed away today the 20th of March 2024 at the Mwananyamala Hospital in Dar es Salam as he was undergoing treatment.
However, it is yet to be disclosed what the comedian was suffering from that needed medical attention.
The comedian became popular over his viral phrase ‘Kata Simu, Nipo Site” which was being used by Netizens across East Africa.
He collaborated with singer Harmonize and other notable Tanzanian celebrities, which led to his popularity on social media and his subsequent feature in several songs.
Just the other day, he had mentioned that his dream was to work with WCB President Diamond Platnumz.
