New Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe’s social media account was hacked last night, leading to claims of a transfer to Manchester United and the forward weighing in on the Cristiano Ronaldo versus Lionel Messi debate.
The Frenchman’s account was infiltrated overnight, and the tweets have since been deleted.
According to The Mirror, Mbappe posted a series of United-centric tweets, starting with “Manchester is Red”
He then endorsed a United-based social media account, stating “@UTDTrey has the best account on football Twitter”.
The superstar’s account also made a fantasy transfer claim saying “I’m going to @manutd. 2028 Let’s run it up on a free transfer”.
Users went into a frenzy as the posts were flying out, even though it was clear they were without any substance.
The hackers then took aim at Lionel Messi, favoring Cristiano Ronaldo in the age-old debate.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest football player of all time. The midget [referring to Lionel Messi] is NOT my goat.” read a post.
There were also some controversial tweets about several Premier League teams, including Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, along with the ‘MBAPPE’ token recently released.
The anonymous posts were swiftly taken down, but there is no word yet on who managed to hack the World Cup winner’s account.
Mbappe has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent years but has since made his dream switch to Real Madrid this summer.
The 25-year-old scored on his debut in the European Super Cup but has failed to score in his first two La Liga fixtures.
United, meanwhile, have three points from their first two Premier League games and will be desperate to add to that tally against arch-rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
